In 1988 a collection of mini-doubloons was created and made available in very limited quantities to Bacchus members. The doubloons featured an exact reproduction of each year’s King doubloon from 1969 - 1988. The only difference was these smaller, exclusive doubloons were cast in a variety of colors rather than the traditional wine version thrown by the king. Coin collectors from around the world have coveted this collection. Due to the limited quantity made they are almost impossible to find as anyone who has a set recognizes it’s value.

In honor of Bacchus’ 40th anniversary a limited number of mini-doubloon sets has been produced, a total of 800 sets. They are ONLY available by purchasing the featured lithograph showcasing the complete set of 40 in order of their reign. Only 400 lithographs were made. Each person ordering will receive one extra set. This being the reason for the 800 sets.

Since the original dies used to make the 1988 collection were destroyed, all 40 doubloons required new dies to be sculpted. This took more than four months to complete. With the NEW complete collection a few slight changes were made. See if you can guess which year’s King’s doubloons were altered. There were only three. One, due to a misspelling of he word Bacchus on a doubloon in the original set as well as two portrait changes requested by those years Kings. The only word to describe the end result of this project is INCREDIBLE!

See if you can pick out some of the past Kings and Grand Marshals. Hulk Hogan is not shown because he is riding on the King's float in front of the parade.  However, a mini doubloon featuring him is included to complete the collection.
