Description:

Chosen as the theme for the 2002 Mardi Gras parade was "Bacchus Journeys Through Africa". Each of the 35 elaborate floats that appeared were all designed around a different aspect of the African nation. The African theme with it's bold colors and striking imagery was beautifully depicted in Michael Hunt's 2002 Lithograph.

Chosen as King for the 2002 parade was superstar, Academy Award winning actor, Nicolas Cage. Nicolas Cage was one of the most famous celebrities to ever reign as King of the Bacchus Mardi Gras parade. Nicolas Cage autographs are considered extremely rare and are valued at close to $300 apiece.
